Arrowmont 20th Resident Reunion

This past week, I had the pleasure to spend time at the Lovely Arrowmont
School of arts and crafts. Getting there and coming home was a bit of an interesting
drive since I got flats on both trips! 

My bench with work in progress. Lots of enameling!!! Every resident created a sample piece to leave at Arrrowmont on a shelf  made by the fabulous Ben Strear in the woodshop. It was incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by so many amazing artists all working, collaborating, and celebrating the history of craft at Arrowmont. 

A pair of basket earrings I traded to Jill Baker Gower for a pair of her lovely earrings!!! TRADES!!!

Thank goodness for gifts of dark chocolate to keep me going on my road trips. 

4 Bridges Art Festival

Here is a quick shot of my booth at the 4 Bridges art festival.

Some new enameled forms that will soon be set into brooches and necklaces. This month I'm preparing for the 4 Bridges Art Festival in Chattanooga, TN on April 14th and 15th. I've got the tent, jewelry displays are in the works and all the work for sale is beginning to get packed up. On the way I'm very glad I'll be able to stop into Arrowmont for a quick visit with some of my most favorite people! The frigid but lovely swimming hole will have to be visited and I can't wait to see the resident exhibition!!!

Lots of studio days for this month, new projects, deadlines, and then I'll be wrapping up the month with a lovely trip to YUMA, AZ! Woo hooo! The wire baskets above will all have additional wire wrapping and silver chains added to them! Reserve yours today! Beat the lines and traffic!

Here!

The building arrived on wednesday and this weekend my Dad and I insulated! oh the joys of fiberglass. Waiting for the electricity to be turned on and then I get to hang drywall! Soon, very soon. Muhahahahahaa! Then I get to move in and start working!

New Studio!!!

Here is the new studio site! I have two lovely old cedar trees on the road leading up to it, they are named "Herman" and "Leroy"... Herman is the one with the chains. Strange fellow, but we get along great. Laid out on the ground are the corners of where my little space will be. Pig the sweet pitbull off to the side is my guard dog. As long as you try to rob me during a thunderstorm you'll be fine. She'll hide under something the whole time. The large pile of trees and branches in the background is the bunny palace! For spring I'm planning a straw and mud roof, to be decorated with wildflowers. I think the bunnies will approve.

Land of Goshen

Since I've arrived home I've continued to build the body of work I started while in Wyoming. I'm planning for three wearable pieces to soon be finished and shipped off to a show in San Antonio. I'm also lucky enough to have a 10' x 16' building coming this wednesday which will serve as my studio!!! Yah! So I'll soon have my bench, enameling kiln, raising station and christmas lights up and running! All I need now is for my good friend Marty to come home for a visit to see it! ( I think you might be the only one who reads this, miss you!)
